Would be one hell of a send off if they do go for it.

I think the biggest obstacle will be insurance restrictions but a roll could be performed off the coast with another aircraft in attendance to film the event

Well....she is due to do Clacton airshow on the 27th August.

Hope she flies over the house on the way in again, that would be sweet.

What camera and lens?
Sorry Jim, not getting forum email updates

Nikon D90, lens is Nikor 55-300 at times could have done with a larger lens, but then again at times could have done with something more around 35mm. Always the way

Thanks for the compliments mate.

Bugger I missed that one mate, and thanks for the link. Sunday was, in some ways, better. She will never dissapoint, and although slightly more sedate a performance, she can be seen throughout this years display calender. All things permitting !

Just thought, as an addage, on the day. French display Lafeyette, number 2 a/c Mirage suffered bird strike and had to land. Magnificent display by the lone pilot.

The enginners and all involved with the BF109G pulled out all the plugs to get her in the air. We had been earlier warned a strong crosswind and then tech difficulties had her grounded. Hats off to all at RIAT

Not sure how many of you guys have just looked at the pics I posted, but I urge you to view the slide show.

Link given at bottom of post 1.

Enjoy

I know what you mean....I've an 18-55mm and a 55-250mm, I borrow a 400mm off a mate on occasion but now I've decided to make a definitive decision on what I actully need and will soon be purchasing a 16-300mm which should cover more than 90% of my photography needs and all in the single lens.

I use an ancient Kiron 35-135 with 1-4 macro on my old Canon AE-1's: one loaded in color and one in B/W. I've kept these bby's professionally overhauled and travel'd from Scotland to Tahiti with 'em! I still shoot film since my RE appraisal photo days. But I have a new Verizon tablet with a digital that I'm getting the hang of...just 'cause it's the 21st century!

Wow sounds like that could be a ton of money mate, is that a prime lens? What camera do you use Jim?

TBH I've never had top of the range equipment because I readily accept I'm never going to be a professional photographer. I tend to rely on various image software packages to improve anything I decide needs said improvement.

I've still got my fully working Olympus OM-10 with manual adaptor attached as well as the usual bundle of wide angle and zoom lenses from the days of film.

My current camera is the lower end of the price scale Canon EOS 1100D which suites my needs. Current lenses being the 18-55mm and 55-250mm.

The lens I am now considering purchasing is the Tamron 16-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Lens (Canon Mount) and at a price of 300-350 pounds isn't overly expensive IMHO considering what some equipment can cost these days.

Old appraisal trick: buy up any stores' just expired date film at reduced price and keep it in the fridge. They're happy to get rid of it at a considerably reduced price.

Good tip mate, however I prolly mislead you a bit. The priciest part was the dev and print. I did take to shooting transparencies, because it was so easy to dev at home. Again it comes at a price, not so much the screen and projector, more the bother setting up the whole kit.

It kind of takes me back to my early youth, each time we went to one particular uncles, ( heavy into photography ), he would drgar out the screen etc. The room would go dark, and both myself and my brother, 'Oh no here we go again'

Good times tho and still got a stack of trannies, (not in a wierd way !).
