If they're that desperate to save space and add the maximum number of passengers to their flying cigar tubes...

Why not pack them in standing up... like cattle?

That should get everyone moooving.

If they really, really want to go economy class, just buy c-130's with troop seats.

Can you imagine a bunch of fat people in those seats? There would be so much friction they might spontaneously weld themselves together!

See, Ryanair have the reputation for that, but I've found other low-costs to be markedly less spacious. Wizz Air are quite cramped and Air Asia X are ridiculously uncomfortable.
