Oh my, my bad. That's the 1st question I should have asked.

Every widescreen solution needs a d3d9.ini and a d3d9.dll file.

Default Same for me

Hi All;

Same for me. Since I bought a new wide screen HD monitor there seems to be nothing outside of changing the game's hard code (if at all possible) that will allow me to play the game in a 4:3 aspect ratio.

I did some research over the last couple of days and as a result set my video card to accept the software's aspect ratio......no problem, no joy. The monitor overrides this. Next I went into my flat screen Setup and tried to set up the aspect ratio to 4:3. The monitor does have an option to change the aspect ratio to 4:3 but its not accessible in HDI.....I'm so confused by now it doesn't matter any more. No joy ......unless I dig out my old VGA cables and use it in VGA mode. Unfortunately that's not gonna happen.

Despite the fact that I spend most of my time on the computer playing games, I DO do other things that are important so.....it is what it is and I'll just have to accept the situation.

I wish I would've known these things before I purchased the WS HD monitor, but just like everything else in life, we can't know everything. For now I'll be playing the game with skewed graphics and be happy because there is no way I'm NOT playing this terrific game.

Just a few thoughts as I stumble on with my pathetic little life.

Cheers,

I don't know, but can't you play in "windowed mode"?

Default no joy there either

Hi banyru79;

Yup, I can but I have a 24"WS monitor set at a native resolution of 1920x1080 and the window therefore is quite small. I've tried 'Infinite Screen' but that doesn't work. I can increase the window size but the game window just stays the same size and stays in the top left corner. I don't know if it's possible to center the game inside the window.

I would beg or borrow an old 4:3 monitor somewhere if there was such an animal left in a decent price range.

It's not all bad. When lining up a shot in the nav map I have to lay out 90 degrees with the protractor in order to find true 90 degrees in the sim. If I don't then I don't get the best shoot angle. It's usually out up to 10 degrees give or take. I like to shoot from around 500 yards if possible so usually I have plenty of time to set things up correctly, and it keeps me busy while I'm waiting for the situation to evolve.

Technology is a wonderful thing. It can also be a curse. I don't know anything about code and such. Perhaps some day somebody will be able to recode the game to work with the Flat Screens.

I've tried all the WS mods to no avail. I've played with the d3d9.ini and get immediate CTDs. I'm out of ideas. The good news for me is I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!......I WILL NEVER QUIT.....until I reach Davey's Locker, that is.
