Updating and patching P.O.S. Steam version SH5

Does that version require you to be online with UPlay while playing?

Nope, when Uplay starts you can go to the upper right hand corner and look
for the emblem that looks like a little gear/sprocket click on this and go to Network. You will see an option to Always Start Uplay in offline mode. If you look around under those preferences you can also disable the dreaded "Saved game sync" in case you ever do want to play online it will not overwrite your offline saves (I always just back my saves up into another directory "just in case").

Without this forum and the dedicated modders and tutorials I would still be trying to play this game as a FPS.

Now I find myself thinking like a Kriegsmarine!!!!

Awesome. Thanks for that bit of information.

BTW I did end up downloading SH5 from Amazon instead of Steam. So far it's working. The Steam forums are loaded with people who can't even get the game to run. Not something I wanted to deal with.
