Like others have said, load some mods. Stock is like eating a hot dog when you could be eating steak with TMO. Mods have actually kept this game going for years and people continue to keep modding it. Not only will you get a better game, you'll get much better graphics as stock is tuned way down back then run more systems to play it.

With stock you can fight about anything on the surface and win, except capital ships. With TMO late war you can get duel 20's and duel 40 bofors to take on planes when needed. Also, plane traffic is maddening with stock.

Yes. I've been putting-off getting the mods because I'm so ignorant about how to install and manipulate the downloaded files. But Peter, "Theberbster" has given me some help and offered more assistance. But, for me, even his great tutorials are difficult to fathom.
I'm going to take the plunge soon, though. I just have to decide what mods to get, other than TMO and probably RSRDC. Thanks.
