Default Odd problem while using NYGM mod

Everything has been running fine. I reinstalled from scratch to put the NYGM mod on my machine. Deleted directories, the works.

So I am running SHIII 1.4 + NYGM (plus battery fix) + SHIII COmmander4

I started a new career and the following things happen:
1) The sky is always black, even when the sun in at high-noon. No clouds, no nothing.
2) My crew accumulates fatigue at an incredible rate and does not recover when they are in quarters, even with a medic present.

I double-checked my SHIIICOmmander settings and they are set as per the NYGM manual. I hadn't fiddled with these at all.

The only difference is that this time I started a career in 1943, when all of my other careers have started in 1939.

Any ideas? Or am I headed for the great re-install. The only frustrating thing is that I haven't a cluse what I did (if anything) to cause this, so I don't know how to prevent it from happening again.

I had the same problem with the black sky. You need to replace a file from the original NYGM download into the SHIII folder. FOr the life of me I can't remember it now. Im sure someone willchime in. Or try asking on the mods forum.

You need to disable NYGM, ROLL BACK SH3 Commander, reinstall NYGM, enable SH3 Ccommander again, and your sky will be normal again. You are not the first, and won't be the last, who forgot that before you install any mod, you need to roll back SH3 Commander first.

Uninstall all mods, then roll back SH3 Commander, then reinstall the NYGM TW mod. The black sky is almost always caused by this problem. If the problem persists, then: manually copy the scene.dat to your SH3 installation. If the problem still persists, you may have a corrupted download. There has been at least one instance of this. Try downloading again.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

However, I want to add the following point to see if it changes anyone's answer.

As I said, I did a complete re-install (I was using RUB and decided to change to NYGM).

I uninstalled SHIII and SHIIcmdr.

I deleted both of the respective directories.

I reinstalled SHIII
Patched to 1.4
using JSGME I installed NYGM, NYGM terrain and the NYGM battery fix.
Then I installed SHIIIcmdr4.

Edited: Also, the above configuration worked for about 4 days (real time). Today when I tried to play the sim, I have black skies and wierd fatigue issues.

I ran SHII after each step to make certain things were still working.

My understanding was that since I installed SHIIcmdr as the very last thing, I didn't need to use the rollback function.

So I should Rollback SHIIIcmdr, then using JSGME uninstall and then reinstall the NYGM mods and the battery fix. Is this correct?

To deal with the black skies problem I'd replace your current scene.dat file with the one you downloaded. That solved the midnight at noon for me.
