![]() as neat as all this is... and thar be spoilers ahead in case you haven't seen a couple of movies that came out 20-30 years ago 1. Hicks was killed in the first 5 minutes of Alien 3 on the planet Fury 161 when the escape module impacted the surface of the planet causing a support column to collapse onto his cryo tube crushing him to absolute instant death ![]() Splaaaat 2. Ellen Ripley also met her fate on Fury 161 when she jumped into the enormous incinerator killing herself and the queen alien mid emergence from her chest cavity ![]() sizzle and savor 3. there is no point between the movie Aliens and the movie Alien 3 in which to insert this plot because the current continuity of the series places both Hicks and Ripley in uninterrupted Cryogenic Stasis for the entire duration between both movies. if you fart in your cryo-tube and your in stasis, can you smell it? 4. Neither could it be a follow on to the Alien Resurrection film unless it was a "We cloned you to again create this story arc" situation (see Alien Resurrection) because - well - what would be the point exactly of cloning either Ripley or Hicks at this point... let alone both of them at the same time? and what writer would be dumb enough to use that plot device in two concurrent sequels? ![]() Im sorry, you want us to do what? 5. This leaves a "dream sequence" story arc... in which we revert back to a previous sequel and start a whole new line of sequels because while Ellen Ripley slept in her cryo tube following the events of Aliens; it turns out that the films Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection were her nightmares that she woke up from when her, Bishop, Rebecca (Newt) and Hicks all arrive safely back at the marine space station. - at this point, its possible Hicks could be treated and rehabilitated even though scarred for life due to acid burns, Newt could be adopted by Ripley, Bishop could be repaired and returned to service or perhaps euthanized. ![]() Yes, ill have the Risperidone with a side of Clozapine 6. The above referenced plot possibility leaves us with the derelict spacecraft... how did they get it and stick it in that warehouse? or did they build the warehouse around it on LV 426? how did the derelict survive the "Nuclear explosion the size of Nebraska" at the end of Aliens ? how pissed will alien franchise fans be when they discover that half of the theatrical series was a dream sequence the whole time? ![]() In all fairness, Nebraska sized explosion was disappointingly small lots of questions to answer and gaps to fill if this project is to be taken halfway seriously by its fan base Personally i think the very best plot developed by writers to date to squeeze into the alien series anywhere has been the plot created for the game Alien Isolation Writers had "57 years" to play with between the first film and the second film and in the case of Alien Isolation, i think the writing was darned near perfect. If you are remotely a fan of the series and you have not purchased and played Alien Isolation from start to finish i need to bring your attention to 2 points. First - you should be ashamed of yourself. second - you're missing out on probably the greatest addition to the story arc of the entire series in franchise history and an incredibly fun, action packed, enjoyable game far superior to any alien game that has come before it ![]() The check is in the mail ![]()

So, for some one that never saw from the begin to the end of Alien 3 (manage to get see the film in bits, a small part there, another do not know when, etc). What version should I get? The normal one or the "assembly" one (extended that Steed was talking?)
Saw also that's there is a extended version of Aliens, is it better? |
