Back when I was twelve my stepmother's uncle was head prop man for a show called Valentine's Day, with Tony Franciosa and Jack Soo (who would later be famous for Barney Miller). My dad and I got to watch one day's filming, which I really enjoyed when I watched that scene when the show aired later. At one point I went outside for some reason, and a grown-up was right behind me so I held the door for him. Mr Soo gave me a polite "Thank you." Of course I was thrilled.
I did get to meet X-15 pilot Scott Crossfield, which was also exciting. Had a conversation with James B. Sikking, who was big on Hill Street Blues at the time. Could not agree more. It's a fantastic, and realistic, spy story, and sticks very closely to the book.
