X-Men First Class was a good flick. Even though there were some glaringly laughable mistakes in the warship bridge scenes. The recent sequel to it, however, is rubbish. A snooze-fest.

Watched Bad Words last night. Went into it expecting a really funny movie...came out of it seeing it as an actually good movie.

The last few weeks I have seen some action/Sci-fi movies
Beside Transformers and Planet of the apes I have seen X-men Days of future past ( I give it 3 out of 5 subs) Edge of Tomorrow ( I give it 4 out of 5 subs) Pacific Rim (I give it 3 out of 5 subs. this extra sub is given due to the action and the original idea of creature a.s.o) Dark Energy ( I give it 2 out of 5 subs, reason this movie is made for the tv-screen) Oculus ( I give it 5 out 5 subs a fantastic horror movie- It didn't scare me, but the story line and the ending was superb.) I just finished watching The Longest Day. It has always been a good flick in my mind.

I just finished watching K-Pax for about the 5th time. I don't know whose performance was better; Jeff Bridges or Kevin Spacey. I liked Bridges ever since his performance in Thunderbolt & Lightfoot.

The Screen Actors Guild today announced its list of nominations for the "Screen Actors Guild Awards" ( the Guild really hates it when people call the SAGs) and "The Imitation Game" earned three nominations, one for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture', one for Benedict Cumberbatch for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role', and one for Keira Knightley for 'Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role'.
Here is a link to the SAG page: http://www.sagawards.org/awards/nomi...s-guild-awards BTW, Benedict Cumberbatch is also nominated for 'Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries' for his role as "Sherlock"... <O>

I keep this film for when I've got a day off and some nice scotch in the house; a special film and always one to really enjoy properly. Something has always puzzled me though: that baldheaded German officer who pulls his jackboots on the wrong feet... why the egg-head? Was he a well-known continental actor or something? It wasn't Yul Brynner; maybe we need another Crazy Baldhead thread to find out.

No, I know it wasn't him either. This guy didn't crop up in "Crazy Baldheads", and neither is he in the cast list for Longest Day on Wiki.
This is going to bug me now: another mysterious bald man... |

No: I really enjoyed this film and don't know why you should think it was sarcasm. I hadn't known about the movie before I saw it in the racks, bought it, and was astonished by the aerial sequences. The lead actor seemed familiar and was ideal for the role, looking so much like Richthofen.

Complete and utter crap, in my opinion. Nothing to do with the real thing, and terrible flying sequences. About on the same level as Flyboys.
