Fantastic work!
![]() I would think most people wouldn't go to that kind of effort for a sailing model. I'm betting you could enter it in a standard display contest. My only complaint is that you didn't keep us updated with a day-by-day account. Still, it's something you can be proud of.

Thanks Steve! I'm about to make a start on the Type VIIC so I'll start another build log and keep you all updated with that!

I hope you get some of these crew for your boat. I didn't really care for the stock crew, but these really look sharp, especially if you're good at painting 1/72 figures.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...7&postcount=43 What kind of motor did you use? Mine is an English motor that's geared 1:6?. I really like it for the realism, as my boat just putts along.

Thanks mate!
Those figures you linked are Gunthwaite ones I originally wanted, but I ended up going for the Hecker & Goros ones to avoid paying 2 lots of p&p, purely as they do a 4inch gun crew. However I am planning on getting some of those, hopefully next payday. As for the motor, I used a Tamiya sport tuned one (520?) thatI had laying around. Way too fast but I limited the power using my transmitter to a more realistic amount and she sails wonderfully

Hi guys, apologies for the delay.
The motor I used was a Tamiya Sport Tuned can that comes with the TT-01D kit. Unfortunately I'm not sure of any other details. It was simply what I had to had at the time. Seems to work fine although it's far too fast really. Propshaft is a 4mm threaded 6inch long brass one from Westbourne Models, it came complete. Prop is a 40mm M4 3-blade r/h brass D-type. I think it's raboesch. Again from Westbourne. I run it using a basic Tamiya TEU-101BK ESC with a 7.2v 3300mah nicd battery pack. Hope this helps.
