I had to think back a bit, but after watching some clips on YouTube, I do remember seeing him on American TV on some program, maybe Midnight Special or Don Kirshner's show, back in the early 70s. I seem to recall he was on the same show where I first saw The Sensational Alex Harvey Band ("Delilah"); I believe the episode was sort of an introduction to 'Glam Rock'... Am I incorrect in guessing Billy Idol owes a bit to Alvin Stardust for his stage presence?... and, really Jim, identifying your teen years by 'Glam Rock'? Somehow I just can't see you in platform shoes and a Bowie cut... RIP, Mr. Stardust and thanks for the music... <O>
