Kinda the same thing with Firefly. Really critical of big government and it was doomed to cancellation (despite the show's quality) before Fox even aired it. Hell same with Space: Above and Beyond, the AeroTech corp. sends colonists to two distant worlds to exploit new resources (namely a new fuel) and start a war with the Aliens who clamed those worlds. The Aliens (known by the slur “Chigs�) ironically prefer death to capture and use swords to butcher the dead and wounded, hang their desecrated bodies from trees or booby trap them - although unlike Islamic Terrorists they have no concept of an afterlife but like some Islamic Terrorists (among others) they took religious text literally (and believe that dead humans will in fact be resurrected and begin to fight again, so they cut out the heart, eyes and sever body parts).
