On arrival we headed straight for the queue to get on her, that's Chris (the Gollum lookalike
![]() ![]() Media and veterans were allowed/helped on first. ![]() We were next in line when the Canadian volunteer mechanic announced no public were allowed and a guy accompanying his two kids argued that the show advertising material stipulated there were public access arrangements. He made a call and later replied that public would be allowed to board after VeRA had flown so Chris and I left the queue to what I suspect was the curiosity of some of the three to four hundred behind us who weren't aware of the situation. This one is in honour of u_crank who asked me to give VeRA a 'pat' for his late father who served as ground crew in the squadron. Quote:

Last couple of shots before the sun buggered off...you can see the flight crew at bottom right.
![]() ![]() The forecasted bad weather was now on the horizon and the pilot of the 100 Squadron Hawk was heard talking to RAF Scampton, he booked a landing slot and an afternoon tea in the base officers mess....carried out his own pre-flight checks and was soon gone. ![]() ![]() Typically, just as the first raindrops appeared from a dark cloudy overcast sky VeRA was pushed out toward the runway to perform a few circuits. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice!
I saw the Lanc in the Canadian Air museum in Ottawa a few years back, beautiful plane, always one of my favorites. For a heavy bomber, it actually looks smaller when you see one in RL.
