If one can put aside the differences in gender and these ladies can perform to the same standard as the men I say why not. I fear however that what passed as acceptable may not be with this change. Here's to hoping they fit in with the rest of us bubbleheads!

In 2002 we had a female sonar operator on U17. She was petty officer second class (Obermaat) and she was "Soni I" and i was "Soni II". Inside the sub nobody she was just a member of the crew. She did her job without any "strange" behaviour.

Since a couple of weeks the german navy has a female watch officer on class 212 subs:
Marine

In my opinion it´s no problem to go to the sea with femal crew members.
