2 Dutch QRA F-16s were also scrambled to this Bear it appears. According to the story (sorry, only dutch) it only entered the most northern section of our airspace. But since the Brits had the situation under control they stood down.

I believe the Bear in question got a welcome reception from us, the Dutch and the Danish.

EDIT: I like the fact that one of the Bears has come prepared for being put up on the Beebs website, check the tail

(it actually translates to VVS [Voyenno-Vozdushnye Sily] Rossii, or Military Air Forces Russia)

Excellent photographs. The Tu-95 is pretty much the only Russian aircraft I've ever truly admired.

It's an icon, the Bear, to anyone who likes the Cold War era, the good old rugged Bear, plodding on and on and on.

I like this comment that I read on the translation notes of a South Korean cartoon, it was a quote from an RAF Phantom flier:
