Default Ore. Pizza Delivery Man Gets His Own Shocking Special Delivery

Perhaps there is hope for the human race after all:

http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs...s-Recipes.html

It only takes a little effort to do the right thing, but so many people don't think it is necessary. A long while back, I was shopping in a market and after paying for my groceries , I noticed the clerk had given me $20.00 too much in change. I brought it to her attention and she thanked me for catching the error. The guy standing behind me was watching and he said to me "Why did you tell her, man? Nobody would have known you got the extra money." I told him there was the possibilty the clerk may have had to make good on the shortage out her own pocket. His response: "Yeah, man, but know one would know it was you who got away with the money." My response: "I would know." As I walked away, he looked at me as if I were from outer space...

My wife and I were checking our store receipt after a trip to Wally world and discovered that a comforter we thought we had purchased didn't appear to have been scanned so it wasn't on the receipt. We returned to the customer service desk the next day to inform them of the error and pay for the item. The clerk behind the desk was so flabbergasted she had to go and get the manager and he too was flabbergasted. So much so that he added an additional discount for their error and our extra trip.
Honesty is always the best policy in my book.

They could have forced you to pay it back.... most do.
I think they were being kind to you, letting you off the hook.

Early last month i was dining at a restaurant with my fiance and her daughter. The table next to us was a large party of about 12 people. They were a rowdy, rambunctious sort of people. a very overly boisterous, offensive people of few manners.

Their waiter worked hard, my fiance being a former waitress and trainer of waitstaff often takes note of the performance of "servers" as she calls them. She comments on it to me frequently when we are dining out. Apparently the man was doing an attentive job for this table in particular despite their nature.

The group got up to leave, and the waiter came to complete some of the initial cleanup and he retrieved his tip from the table... two, single dollar bills.

given the nature of the restaurant, and the fact that they celebrated a birthday with about a dozen people sitting at their table i know the bill for their feast had to be about $150-200.

Our server - a different person than he - came back to our table and refilled our drinks etc. as the area we had seated in fell somewhat quiet after what i could best describe as "The Klumps" had left i overheard him tell our waitress "They stiffed me, i cant believe this... two dollars on a twelve top." our waitress shook her head and continued on about her duties.

When the time came to pay our tab, i tipped our waitress 100% the value of our bill and told her to share it 50/50 with the gentleman who got stiffed. Not only was she excited, but he stopped me as i was headed out the door and told me how much he appreciated the tip. It wasn't a lot... but im sure it made up for the loss on the 12 top table.

You have to do nice things like that for people if we are to retain any bit of our humanity and regard for one another.

I was at an air show once, went to the lemonade stand and purchased 2 small drinks, i think it was about $5.50 for the drinks. I had a $5 and a $1 on hand so i gave the guy the $6... he was swamped with customers and short handed. He got my drinks, brought them to the window and gave me the drinks and $5 change.

I looked at him and i said "Sir you gave me too much change, it was $5.50 i gave you $6.00 you gave me $5.00 back"

he stood there for a moment of confusion and surprise. He said "You know what? keep it man! 95% of people would have just walked right off and not said anything. enjoy your drinks!"

so I did

From that title I though McBee had answered the door naked! I've never been so pleased to be wrong.

Reminds me of a TexMex meal at the SubSim Meet where the joke goes 'someone hoovered up the tips as we were leaving' but the truth is/was 'someone upset a load of dishes and glasses that were arranged near the exit'

I wonder who that was

Not in California. There's a law that says workers can't be held responsible for a short til unless it can be proved it was done on purpose. Well meaning, but I'd rather have just paid it.
