I really loved the mmo/pvp game pirates of the burning sea:

It was such a blast fighting for one of the nations or pirates for control over the caribbean!
Sadly, too much bs happened like pay2win etc. at some point and I left. Another problem is that the game became very one-sided cause all of the "pro" players sail either for spain or france on several accounts which means you either play for such nations or lose every time

Anyways, the meta mechanic of this game is IMHO still revolutionary and I'm really a bit sad that nobody else in the world of game development apparently cares Guess only other options is to go play EVE online....

Another game you maybe wanna check out is "wind of luck" but i'm not sure yet if I like it or not
