Hi pisces, the sweet spot for the type2 seems to be 5 kts

If you implement the use of SH3 Commander you can change the patrol grid you are ordered to exactly, or selectively randomize it, at the start of a new patrol. You could have all your patrols in ANxx if you wanted, until you accumulate enough renown to upgrade your boat. Happy hunting!

Plus, since you are running GWX you should know that GWX has removed the known rewarded for patrolling your grid.

Thanks for all the info, I forgot about the renown as I have not been overly worried about it until now when I discovered I was mighty short of what was needed for a type VII.
I am probably transiting the channel tonight but I doubt I will get to my grid because hopefully I would have run out of torpedoes long before then.

Are you sure you are not recharging the batteries at that time? I can't remember it being that low.

Thanks for that, when I tried 5kts was more efficient than 6kts but Im not sure about how to order 5.75kts?

You dial in the exact speed you want on the knotmeter rather than the telegraph. If you would like a larger dial to make it easier, see here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=211313

Thanks I have installed and had a quick play, nice big dials, got to work so will try out properly later.

Never did get to DH55, reported convoy on english coast so attacked it before getting to english channel used all 5 torpedos for a medium cargo and a destroyer then back to wills.
On restarting commander has retired me after 10 missions, new career now in a VIIB.
