Default New guy on the docks

Hey folks. Not much to say about me. I know literally nothing about the ocean, beyond what I've seen on TV, and my knowledge of naval warfare is utterly non-existant. Until know, I was never even remotely interested in submarines or their roles in combat.

As a long time lover of flight sims, I started to look for something a little bit different. I love how military sims work, but was looking for something different from aerial combat. When googling best 'military sims' I came across something called Silent Hunter III. It apparently was to sea combat what IL2 Sturmovik was to ww2 aerial combat. I decided to give it a try, but never stuck with it. However, I recently purchased Silent Hunter IV (without the expansion.) cheap and am back into the swing of things. Or rather, the learning curve.

It has taken multiple youtube videos to even get an idea of what I'm supposed to do. The tutorial in game is beyond worthless for someone who doesn't even know if port is left or right! (I think port is left, and starboard is right as the person faces the bow?) Hope to continue learning around these forums.

Anyhow, that was longer then expected. Just wanted to introduce myself. Carry on!
