If you're trying to get into the RN this is a good first step. Further tips from my own experience:

• Practice watching Das Boot until you can finish the actors' lines (in German) to impress your collegues
• Unlock the Type XXI before you start for additional prestige
• Grow a scraggly and unecessary beard that makes you look like Shaggy off Scooby Doo
• Practice getting drunk and falling off a gangplank
