I don't know of any way to easiely do what OP is proposing. But why not do away with the button pushing and mouse clicking entirely? Instead of listening to a machine-generated "you" speaking the commands, just speak the commands. Then the crew repeats them, and executes them.
The capability to do exactly that - voice command - exists for SH3 and SH4 through the use of an external background program (freeware), and is built into SH5. For SH5, you need a mod to enable it. But for SH4, just google "sh4speech." Read the description, download the software, and start actually giving orders to your crew. It's a far more immersive experience than typing at a keyboard. For anyone who is interested, I will be happy to provide more information and assistance in setting up. All it takes is a cheap $20 headset from the Shack to get started. Try it, and you'll never want to go back to pushing buttons again! |
