@leitender: the radar equipment in the *.sns is that of the British escorts in SH3; it's historically not correct.
@WTCC: there are nice models of the late-war Flowers converted from SH4/5. The model of the Blacks Swans is one better SH3 models. Town class destroyers are not in the original SH3, only in GWX. I consider doing a model but not so soon; I have other plans. @JapLance: some progess with the E class? |

thanks a lot for the link ![]() For quite some time now I have two speed/range settings for the electric torpedoes in order to simulate preheated and cold batteries. However, my problem always was that I did not know how long it took to heat the batteries and thus, when to use which setting. Now I have a new house rule: Only after being in contact for more than 4h I will use the preheated setting ![]() Regards, LGN1 |

The_Frog: I´m sorry for continuing that off-topic chat...
Hi LGN1, I´m glad that you´ve found some news on that really loving site. Concerning the heating time I remember two ranges: about 3.000m unheated and up to 5.000m when the torpedo was heated (TII). My own idea was to use the SH3 Commander to set the range randomly between 3 und 5km, because getting contacts is random controlled too, so one cannot prepare for it. But I´ve never implemented that idea. Your solution is really... hardcore! I´m sure I wouldn´t have the discipline to wait for 4 hours to get a hot torpedo... ![]() Btw manos included a small fix in his MaGui mod for the torpedo speed. 2 speed settings were corrected. Have you noticed that? Otherwise I can send you a Torpedo.sim file where I have included all that information I´ve found here and elsewhere. Greetings from Leitender ![]() |

Hi Leitender,
I use two settings for the TII and TIII torpedo in torpedo.sim: TII(cold, speed setting 1): 28kn/3000m TII(heated, speed setting 2): 30kn/5000m TIII(cold, speed setting 1): 28kn/4500m TIII(heated, speed setting 2): 30kn/7500m From now on I will only switch to the heated speed if I have been in contact for more than four hours. Anyway, back to topic... (sorry, the_frog ![]() Cheers, LGN1 |
