Hello.

Because i do not know the mods at all i can´t help with them. But one important question:
Where did you install the game? SH3 needs to change some files and that doesn´t work with win vista/7/8 if SH3 is installed in C:\programm files or C:\programm files (x86). Try out any other path on your hdd and perhaps it will work then.

Try running "Troubleshoot Compatibility" program in Win 8.1. I had the same problem when I upgraded to Win 8.1.

It might be that you are having mod soup, conflicts betwenn two or more mods resulting in ctd. Please tell us the directory where you have SH3 installed, something like C:\games\ubisoft\silenthunteriii. Are you using GWX 3.0? Are you using JSGME to install your mods?

I meant to ask this in my earlier post, but somehow I forgot - does SH3 run by itself without any mods installed?

Right click on your SH3 Icon then click on "Troubleshoot Compatibility". Win 8.1 runs SH3 in Win XP SP3 mode on my PC.

I have exactly the same problem if I run any SH3 wide screen mod on my windows 8.0 or 8.1. Compatibility testing made no difference among numerous things I tried.
SH4 runs well in widescreen at maximum resolution, however.
