No problem. But I mixed up adressing bireltm125 and you (andym).

It was him that got the error: Specified folder is invalid, incomplete, or write protected. But I responded to you. Sorry.

To be honest, I am also lost on what your current state of affairs is with installing SH3 again. Did you already make a new clean install of the game? And if so, what was the result of installing GWX again? Please be specific about symptoms, and at which point in the game things don't work right.

Thanks for asking.Yes i have managed to get SH3 to run although there is a small graphical artifact that sort of spoils the aesthetic look of the game but i can live with it.I have got JGSME working a treat. As to the GWX i havent reloaded it.Initially i ran it and ended up off the coast of Africa instead of Kiel harbour. So i quit the Patrol and went off to another base other than Kiel.On the "loading screen" the bar got to about 3/4 the way along when the screen became black and was about 2/3 of normal size off to the top left of my scren.(this is similar to the SH5 issue i have except that window isnt black and it has no sound as the intro plays)I did not that GWX did infact correct the graphics artifact but then as i said on the next patrol it all went as bit tits up.

Excuse my stupidity but can i install another SH3 using a differnet destination folder?I dont want it to interfere with my current set up as i am doing rather well,LOL

Yes, you should be able to have multiple installations of SH3, each with their own folder. I have never used it myself, so I can't help there. But you will need to use the MultiSH3 mod. As the game expects your campaign saves and gameconfig to be in only one folder, the Documents\SH3 folder. This mod is used to switch between different 3-character named folders in Documents.

I just installed SH3 this afternoon after a long vacation..... too long.

It's a no go with my 8.1 so far. It's in the Games folder I created so it's not in the Ubisoft folder at all. Now this is an original dvd from back in 2005. It should have Starforce in it but I ran the removal tool and it said no Starforce found. And I got an error when I tried to run the sim. I do have the file with the info from the error report. But it shows nothing out of the ordinary that I can see.

Thanks Blitz. I didn't check that thread, but I'm now heading over to it.

Edit:
It should be made a "Stickie".
