Welcome aboard!
I think you will find plenty of "old timers" here who like the slow pace and dedication required for a simulation of this nature. I, too, remember (and was absolutely awestruck by) Silent Service on the old original IBM PCs. Even before that I was blown away by a sub sim for the TI99/4A (maybe Up Periscope?). This game was released in 2005 and with GWX even now it is still a hugely visually enjoyable and tactically engaging game. Trying to get through the entire war from 1939 to 1945 is a massively difficult and challenging undertaking that always keeps me coming back even if I take a break for months at a time. Steve |

WELCOME ABOARD!
![]() I played Silent Service on an Atari 520ST. When I got my first PC I discovered the original Silent Hunter and thought it was better. I've played them all, and SH3 and SH4 are still my favorites.
