The problem with making the ships so hard to sink is that firing a spreaded salvo into a convoy is pointless, as one torpedo strike simply will not sink a ship, of any size it seems.

I strongly recommend that you read both the NYGM Tonnage War User Manual which contains the NYGM Ship Damage Mod read me.

I would also strongly recommend reading the 9 pages in this thread here http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=47519

Doenitz calculated that in 1942 from January to June,
40% of ships sunk with 1 torpedo
38% of ships sunk required two or more torpedoes
22% of ships hit with 1 to 4 torpedoes escaped

I am not saying that the NYGM Ship Damage Mod is perfect, it is however, considering everything, dam good. Again, until you have read the NYGM Ship Damage Mod Read Me you will not get the best out of this Mod.

I can sink a small/coastal merchant with 1 torpedo, sometimes I need 2. I have often sank a medium cargo with 1 torpedo.

This was part of my WaW patrol tonight...
2 ships sighted. Liberty and Medium cargo
Submerged for attack
Ships identified as a Liberty and Victory Ship
Estimated speed 6 knots
10.32 2 torpedoes at liberty - 2 hits
10.35 2 torpedoes at Victory - 1 hit
10.49 1 torpedo at Victory - 10.51 - 1 hit
10.52 Victory ship torpedo hit in bow and stern
10.52 liberty ship heaverly down by bow
11.12 1 torpedo at Victory - 11.14 - 1 hit
11.40 1 torpedo at liberty - 11.42 - 1 hit
12.44 distant explosions heard - no sighting of liberty ship
13.34 1 torpedo at Victory ship - 13.34 - 1 hit - ships destructs

Hi guys,

I'm working on a Unified Campaign for GW and NYGM. The final result could be not so the best of two, but all include!

Teddy Bär are follow all the development on this stuff. I already put all the last uboats fix on this work because the ai Uboats are part of the new Unified Campaign and they also have the cable fix too (and last changes on this issue). The Unified campaign is already done but we will test and make some adjusts for the final agreement. In more or less 10 days...

Hello everyone


Just decided to give you guys some info of what hapends to me with the NYGM Toonage MOD....


I've done a brand new instalation of SHIII and the sequenced patchs 1.1....1.2....1.3....1.4b.....and ,decided to instal this mod plus the terrain add on and offcource bordinstrument with the latest CA instrument patch and a lot more graphic improvement puted all toghether by myself in a personalised MOD....

Now cause i add a previouse Menu ini file that was allready worked to be the way i whanted i'd picked up the NYGM reade me file and changed the things that you say it was modifyed since you give in that readme a complite and detailled info in the areas that where changed in the 1024x768 menu ini.

and launched the game via SHIII comander....


And Black screen , , and the game don't starts.....

There is a mesage giving an error in the SHIII EXE. and some other issues....but the point is i even tryed with just the NYGM mod alone and the problem was exactelly the same bro....


Can anyone from the MOD team tell me what mite be my mistake....and help me out with this prob...

When this happens on my machine, it is due to the movie folder. I have to copy the orginal folder from the orginal data file to the NYGM data folder after I delete the one in the NYGM data file. Just deleting the movie intro files doesnt work for me.
Also, even the smallest error in the menu_1064_768 file will screw up the game.

Maybe i'm dense but....
I would really get rid of the stopwatch and return back to the old rudder command.
I've tryed to see if i can using the documentation but i really don't understand what i have to do.

Plus another Q:Im not sure because lately my audio card is acting strangely(But now it seems to work )
The question is:Are the Explosion sound delayed in some way?Because i see the explosion and i hear the sound a bit after.
It's that a mod?I seems to remember a small mod that do the same thing.I would like to return to the old sound.

Now it time for congratulations...your mod is really impressive.Even the documentation is impressive(Too impressive...my head hurt)

Ah...i love the new crash dive sequence

it´s caused by some modded soundfiles in the "sound" folder of NYGM
All sounds there starting with Pnn, exept for P09_$Gun_muzzle_flash.WAV
(your Deckgunsound, sounds great but more like an antitank gun...i use it btw)
are slightly delayed. Replace with them with the stock game sound, if you don´t like them.

English is not my language and maybe i don't understand you well...

You mean there is a sound file that delay torpedo and explosion or that i need to replace the file with the original?(And that means a new reinstall for me )

What about the gauge?Can someone give me some hint?

I have a modded the menu_1024_768.ini file that puts the rudder controls back in place of the stop watch. Haven't tested it yet but I can e-mail it to you or load it to Rapid-share if you want to try it.

sorry for my bad english, it isn´t my native language, too.
About the sound files you´re right; you´ll have to replace them with the originals or some sounds of your choice.
About that reinstall stuff...it´s a good idea to install the game, patch it to 1.4b and then make a backup copy of the whole SH3 folder. I just deleted my game folder, btw, but since i have a backup copy of the game folder i can easily go back. no need to reinstall and repatch. Also very handy if you want to replace single files with the stock ones.

If you don´t want to reinstall i could upload the soundfiles at rapidshare for you...

Maybe you can just copy and paste here the line you've changed without sending file around.

Gammel,you don' have an idea of all the problem the other PC gave to me...
I've reinstalled and uninstalled every game,program and driver at least four time...
Simply...doing a backup was the last thing im my poor,sleepless mind...
And then today everythyng work smooth...

I was really thinking to breack the damn thing in small piece

It's more than one line ( you have to replace a section of code and renumber the entries after it) and there are also changes to the dials.cfg file.
