Default It's kinda like "The Onion"

But targeted for current and prior military I think, or anyone who keeps an eye on defense department issues. Funny stuff.

I like this one at the bottom of the 2nd page "Army Convoy in Iraq Still Waiting for EOD to Arrive" That is how it goes in the military always waiting on something.

http://www.duffelblog.com/2013/12/co...eod-to-arrive/

My brother was EOD it does turn out that way sometimes they where way over worked in Iraq.

Here another pretty funny EOD one http://www.duffelblog.com/2013/08/eod-minesweeper-game/

Another pretty good one about a young Lieutenant this one sounds very accurate http://www.duffelblog.com/2013/10/2n...wrong-platoon/

The story about the lost lieutenant is very accurate, All of the new louies I met were lost. We always made it a point to instruct our newbs to salute a new LT while in the field. One of them even started crying.

Yeah it is tough to be a fresh butter bar even if they have good potential at that point they have no experience and everyone knows it.Funny that they outrank an E-7,8,9 of course they also receive much less respect than an SNCO everyone knows who the real boss is.

We always made sure that the shiny new butter bars got the proper training.
Like ...
Saluting them when they had their hands full.
Rendering a left hand salute. Always fun.
As mentioned above, getting a troopie fresh out of basic to salute them in the field. " Are you trying to get me killed, Private?!"
" Sorry, Sir. Murphy's law of combat operation #5 states: Try not to look important. The enemy may be low on ammo.

You can tell that the people who write are or where in the recent military. It is just too close to real life nonsense. I love the PC thing and the USAF is obsessed about it.

Once in 2005 a fellow NCO and myself we got in trouble for being "insensitive". First a bit of information about the other NCO to show how stupid the PC crap gets he was Chinese American I'll call him Raymond.

Anyway one of the green troops had just finished his first inspection job these always have a lot of mistakes so to cheer up a troop that just had been made to feel like he stepped onto the biggest fail boat(all though he had but so dose everyone at that point) the older guys would make a little joke about the inspection. So Ray says "Ah man looks like another Chinese government sabotage job here they get everyone once in while" and I said "yeah just be happy that this was not a Taliban job the last one of those we never where able to find all of the parts"everyone laughed and now the FNG did not feel like a total idiot mission accomplished.

Well some yahoo must have been passing through and overheard our jokes because a few hours later they called Raymond and myself to the wing commanders office (a full flipping bird they skipped right over or squadron CO). He ripped us up and down for saying the "insensitive" comments and the whack job even ripped me for the Taliban bit our freaking enemy.

We both tried to explain the reason behind the joking and that it was not to insult a race(duh the the one that made the Chinese statement is Chinese). The bird told us that the Romans might have said bad things about their enemies but the US does not I wished that a Roman Centurion would have suddenly appeared when he said that and stamped SPQR on the forehead of this Colonel.

I think that he disliked our specific unit because we where not typical a smaller unit with no officers in direct control plus one airman a few weeks previous had passed the birds staff car on his motorbike they where going really slow on this German road so he cat walked his bike as he passed assuming it was just some transportation guys testing out a staff car well it was the big boss and he called the cops to nab him.We had good discipline where it counted of course they ignore what counts which is how well you perform the mission not how much brown nosing you do.and where was that colonel during our deployments?

I mustered up the balls the tell the bird that this kind thing is exactly why people choose not to re-enlist.He said something to the effect of "you can say what you want when you are a civilian" I thought to myself good idea because if I say what I think about you right now I'll wind up in the stockade.

Our squadron CO at the time was good he would not have said anything hell if he had been there when we said what we said he would have added to it of course this was over his head anyway and to a Colonel a Lt. Colonel is just where the hill starts going downwards.
