With all the twists and turns this thread (like most others) has taken I don't see how anybody could care, much less complain.

Cool! Keep everybody posted. If it works out maybe it could be worth its own thread.

Speaking of which, McBee's been kind of quite lately. I wonder how things are working for him.

I've heard a rumour he pooped on his neighbours lawn and is incarcerated in a dog compound now

Hey, don't pick on my friend. He's a grammar nazi, not a spelling nazi.

Ah, I finally figured that out.

I will make one thing clear (for the ninety-ninth time). What Jim said is partly true; I do jump on people for abusing the language, because often it's so egregious it makes me grind my teeth. I don't ever mention people's spelling, because typos happen and we don't notice. On the other hand I don't mind a bit when people point out my mistakes, as long as you point out others' also.

Always makes me laugh.

Anyway, in the latest kitten news they have both figured out how to get back and forth through the cat door by themselves. In another triumph for Sam, he was the first one to manage it. Then my poor widdle Baby Carrot was stuck in the mudroom by himself watching Sam go back and forth with reckless abandon until he finally conquered the new beast for himself. Now they are going back and forth every half hour or so, apparently just for the lulz, and without me prompting them to use it, so I think we're golden!

Pish, posh: Sam is merely exhibiting an intelleigent grasp of the concept of "let the other guy try it first". He wisely observes first, decides if the situation is safe and viable, then acts. No foolhardy soul, he; to do otherwise would be, well, ... erregious....

(I am also well pleased I got to use "pish, posh"...)

No, the best mom would've put up a Christmas tree complete with shiny dangly jingly toys for them to knock off and break and hide under things, and lots of twisty green wires for them to chew on when they got tired of trying to eat the fake pine branches.

Also, now I want to get some stencils or something and paint "This way to the Great Egress" over the cat door.

We had a nice 7 foot tree in the 'Days before Cats'.
Here's what's left of it.

Is that a stick of gum on top in lieu of a star? Classy!

Never thought of that!

It's a tag that reads "American Chopper" or something like that.
It's hooked to the Santa Chopper under it.
It's the only decoration I'm in charge of.
It's also the last one that gets put on the tree after much 'reminding' that I didn't do it yet.
As a high ranking member of "The Procrastinators Club"? I'll explain why it's always last later.
