As someone who has tried it, it has a rather vague 'meaty' flavour that is best described as 'one step above bland'. Still, it's better than corned beef, which people at work call 'pressed monkey in a tin', and has the same smell and consistency as cat food.

Also, the name SPAM is a contraction of what it's made of: SPiced hAM. Im not even sure Hamms' could make it interesting.

I have always found the taste of spam to be rather bland. However, I do like the taste of fried sliced ham even if it is rather salty. Fried spam goes well with baked beans and fried eggs; an emergency meal when you do not have any bacon. Of course, it is an acquired taste.
