Default Is this game worth playing?

First of all I want to say "Hi" to all . So back to the topic, is SH5 worth playing with TDW mods and Open Horizons campaign or I should go back to the SHIII with GWX mod? Thank you for any replies.

Welcome aboard!

Yes, with the proper mods SH5 is very much worth playing. There are many players here who play it and love it. For more opinions click on the search link at the top of the page. Click 'Advanced Search'. Type in 'worth playing' and select Search Thread Titles Only. Then on the menu to the right click Silent Hunter 5.

It's a great game. It's been a long while since I last played SH3, but I'd say it's like SH3 with better graphics and some new features (and some lost). There are mods to make you feel at home though, like the TDW's UI which has a sh3 style. I've even imported music from SH3, and it at almost feels like the same game now.

On the flipside it's more demanding on the hardware and I sometimes get random ctds (as often as every 4-5 hours) so saving the game at least once an hour is very important.

Thank you . Yeah TDW mods are the best for me. So I think that i'm gonna play this game a lot. The only thing that annoys me is that the ships have "lifebars" even if you disable it, the ship won't sink until it's lifebar is depleted.
