Is there a way to have map contact updates disabled but still see hydrophone lines on navmap? If not, would it be difficult to mod it in? (I've 0 experience with modding this game.)
Thank you for any help! If you want to know why I need this, it's because I like playing with no contact updates but I'm not really into manually using the hydrophone, I want the sound guy to do all the work and have it displayed on the map. |

yes - when in the bunker, press esc for options and select no map contacts

In my experience it also disables hydrophone lines.

Okay, I've found a solution and will post it here in case someone else wants to know.
It seems that TDW's add-on mod has a version called "No contact shapes or colours" which essentially removes ship and aircraft symbols from the navmap, but leaves hydrophone lines (although it also seems to remove the color from hydrophone lines, I hoped it wouldn't do that). You have to have Map contact updates set to ON, to see hydrophone lines. |

I used to go into the Silent Hunter/Data/Menu/Units and find the UnitShip.dds and just using a paint editor like GIMP to erase the image or leave one small pixel.
