Having said that, there is variation between Scotland and England/Wales. According a news report I saw on TV, Scotland does better in Maths and English, but England/Wales do better at the Sciences.

?? I thought the OP was talking about this test made by OECD here in scandinavia it's called Pisa-test.

So I thought it was the same in england, USA and the rest of the world.
