Not nearly as embarrassing as cutting your fish loose.
![]() Despite the fact that a few US subs were attacked and even sunk by friendly forces, I can't think of one instance where a US sub accidently sank or attacked a warship from the US Navy. A few Russian ships and subs did fall to US torpedoes in the Pacific though. That was embarrassing enough. |

GRAYLING on June 7, 1942 at the Battle of Midway dove after being harmlessly bombed by a group of B-17s. They reported that they had sunk an enemy cruiser.
