I think we just figured out their propulsion system.

Curry -> astronaut -> collection syphon in the space suit -> ignition chamber

The popadoms and pickle trays are just to whet the appetite whilst the rest is cooked. And I prefer a Peshawari naan. Nowadays I prefer something tasty over something very hot - my Phal days are far behind and today I'll go for something more creamy but have the occasional vindaloo if for no other reason than the wife won't nick any.
