Vickers provided another particles.dat for use with the splash effects mod. I remember getting it sometime around Sept 2011. I tried to find it searching this forum but with no luck. Try sending him a PM.

As much as I hate to drag up an old thread, did a solution for the smoke mod and this surface effect mod ever turn up?

I have taken hiatus from playing for a few months so just saw your question. I am not aware of Vickers posting his modified particles.dat element. I found though that having his version of particles.dat can lead to other conflicts with others mods that also use particles.dat. Just saying! I eventually dropped using the smoke mod in favor of the "eye candy" of the splash effect mod as I didn't get the same thrill from the smoke mod.

Hi,

I have done a same effect in another file (no overwriting materials.dat and particles.dat from another mod).

I Haven't made a "real" mod, because I have just copy the modified files from the original Genius mod from Skybaron. So I am just a copycat .

But if you are interested I can send it to you...

Regards

Jean
