Ideally we'd have simultaneous Subsim meets, East Coast USA, West Coast USA, London UK, Sydney Australia, anywhere else?

Personally speaking I've only been to the one in Houston, organised by Neal in 2008 and that was really something else, meeting Neal, Steve, Jason, Chad, Dan, three Grey Wolves (plus one wife) and too many more to mention.

The one in Denmark was one that clashed with my 25th wedding anniversary so no feeble excuse there.

A SS Meet is something I would recommend everyone should attend because it is a unique opportunity to meet people in person but that might also be a reason for some people not attending....certainly their loss, not mine.

I was being kind in approximating just under half.

Only serious members need to reply by putting their money where the subsim account is at.

A subsim thread could be closed for posting unless you have 10% already deposited showing your sincerity. The other wantabe members at a subsim meet can still read the post, but only members already committed can beat the drums and look forward to the meet.

In other words put your money where your keyboard is
Some of us already did....in 2008 I crossed the Atlantic and Tarjak the Pacific to meet up with Neal, The Grey Wolves and community friends.

So I get to meet McBee again, August gets to meet Soopaman, you get to meet Jim again and Tarjak gets to meet Cybermat.

Sounds real exciting. Any idea where Neal fits in?

Yeah, he can pay for it all.

I'm sure if we can get a few smaller meets organised then it'll whet the appetites for a bigger one. It's much cheaper for people to dip their toes in the same or nearby country than fly halfway round the world so it's more likely to happen and more likely to attract more people. Or not.

Edit : just for the record I'd like to meet McBee twice, I don't know what you have against the chap.

I have nothing against him except for his cold nose. I've already met him three times and I'd love to make it four. That said, I'd hardly call that a "Subsim meet". For me it's about meeting the people I want to know, not just the ones I can. With enough warning I'd save my beans and come to London, or Sydney. But someone would have to organize it first.

Here are an idea I have had since my first meeting in Holland 2005.

Each year we get together in some semi-meetings in USA and Europe and maybe a third meeting somewhere else in the world

Every second year we have a BIG meeting shifting between USA and Europe. Those years we have this big meeting there isn't any semi-meetings.

Example

year 2014:
Semi-meeting in Europe(London perhaps)
Semi-meeting in USA(don't know where
(after we can change photos and info here on Subsim)

Year 2015 Big meeting in USA

A.s.o

$5 says we'll be talking Civil War within 5 minutes of the start of the conversation.

Yeah, I gotta meet Herr Berr and I owe August a bottle of Crown Royal.

You know, let's make it a surprise subsim meet and just show up at Neal's house.

Kinda like that scene from the Hobbit.

London, you know how long it would take me to row across the Atlantic? Course if you or Jim are paying, different story. I'll even bring some free posters to hand out.

Love the idea. I believe I could save the money for a 2015 USA trip
