Default Is there a way to increase probability of Q Ship in Campaign to 100%?

I know it is not historically correct but is there a way I can change the default probability of a Q Ship showing up in campaign from the default 25% to 100% to increase the danger of my game, and also have them exist in the entire campaign from beginning of war to end of war.

I dont know much about modding SH3, but it seems you do not have to edit the campaign files to have different ships show up in campaign. by just having the ship files in the correct folders does the trick.

Thanks for any Info!

Why 100%?

That means you'll never be surprised when coming across lone merchants or the odd one in a convoy.

Not knowing how the campaign works, but as it is now I am guessing in a campaign on the start of EACH New patrol there is a 25% chance that a Q Ship will be somewhere out in the Ocean, plus I then have to be lucky enough to run into it. There is a 75% chance that there is not even 1 out there on my Patrol? Is this a correct way to look at it.

At 100% I am thinking that somewhere out in the big ocean on every patrol there is a possibility of running into 1 of these Q ships.

If it is set a 100% percent how many Q ships could be on the ocean during 1 patrol? Just 1 or several spread out over the ocean?

Maybe this is not how the campaign works.

Any info appreciated!

Thanks!

The Q Ship is the SCF=Small Coastal Freighter model, so upping the percentage to 100% would mean every time you come across the SCF you would get said Q Ship.

Hello Jimbuna, I just realized you are the creator. Thank you for your replys. Maybe because I have not seen 1 yet is because I do not have this installed correctly, I am using Stock 1.4B and V16B1 and a few other mods. I notice your readme files refers to GWX only, maybe the GWX campaign has been edited to use your Q Ships only? Hope not.

Looking at my stock 1.4b EnglishNames I added SCF=Small Coastal Freighter at the bottom.

So what you are saying is that there is already a Small Coastal Freighter in my Stock 1.4b game and that each time the game creates 1 or decides to let me run into 1 there is a 25 percent chance it will be a Q ship, okay this makes since.

I thought when the game creates a patrol in campaign it scatters 100's of ships out on the Ocean, I wanted there to always beat least 1 Q ship somewhere out on the Ocean on every patrol. Hence my logic of using 100% so I am guaranteed at least 1 somewhere on the map.

So what you are saying that each time I run into a Small Coastal Freighter, then the campaign game engine decides if it will be a Q ship or not by the 25% factor. If this is correct I understand the 25% setting then.

Thanks for your help, info and the mod!
