Guys, safe yourself the money and reinstall Raven Shield. It looks the same and plays MUCH better.

I should have listened to my gut feeling and not buy this piece of unfinished software crap. I was blinded by my hopes and dreams for a new tac-shooter and what did I get? "Takedown: Red bugs all over the place including the constant reminder that this game is in alpha stage"

I could have bought Crusader Kings II for the same money somewhere, a game long on my radar... and the idiot I am I wasted it on this!

- MP isn't working at all for no one right now
- Animations and movements appear unrealistic/unauthentic
- Lots of bugs, like clipping errors, sound files not playing, ...
- Questionable "realism" (shoot a target standing and miss, kneel down into a silly pose and turn into a sniper... yeah, sure...
- Dead environment
- AI is among the most ridiculous and stupid known to man
- AI is a clone army (and this in 2013...wow...)
- Game feels "empty". No mission briefings, no nothing.
- Menu/GUI is terrible

No, seriously, this game is utter crap. I hate myself for wasting just a cent on it and I am very close to contact STEAM regarding a refund. Against common believe, refunds do happen sometimes...

What a disappointment

Addendum:
Ok, I finally got into a COOP session and I'm still laughing tears.

Besides the fact that there is no map, or any way to know where anyone is, some guys where chatting in Finnish. Now, Finnish IS a funny language but it gets even more funny when MICROSOFT SAM tries to speak it!!!
I kid you not, if you chat, MS Sam is reading it!

OMG what the hell where those "developers" smoking while creating this pile of junk!?

"Delete Local Content" never(!) felt SO good!

Here we go...

Haven't tried yet, but server browser indeed seems empty.

Gun animations seem fine, apart from there not being a quick/chambered-round reload. Can't say I care about movement animations; not like you see them much from 1PV. Besides, you saw them in the videos. Bit daft to complain about that at this point.
- Lots of bugs, like clipping errors, sound files not playing, ...
Missing a sound on a reload doesn't constitute "lots of bugs". Which is the only bug I've seen.
- Questionable "realism" (shoot a target standing and miss, kneel down into a silly pose and turn into a sniper... yeah, sure...
Compared to what? R6/GR? You mean the games where you had a cone of fire rather than actual ballistic and recoil modeling? This is a fair bit better in terms to realism than what we usually play.
- Dead environment
It's interactive. Glass can be shot out, displays break, etc. Smaller objects wobble around. Granted, it's not consistent yet; monitors react but keep displaying.
- AI is among the most ridiculous and stupid known to man
They seek cover and react appropriately. I've seen them hug a corner for cover, stay put when pinned down and change position when they have the option.
- AI is a clone army (and this in 2013...wow...)
Expecting a large number of different character models is ridiculous. Especially considering their budget.
- Game feels "empty". No mission briefings, no nothing.
The maps have briefings. Not sure what you're on about. I'd say it's a fair bit better than, say, R6 that just drops you in a server with at most 2 minutes to pick gear and organize before the game starts.
- Menu/GUI is terrible
True. Has to function with a gamepad after all.
I have no idea what you were expecting, but it wasn't realistic. Stating Raven Shield plays and looks better, imho, is ridiculous. TRS improves on both accounts, for example by doing away with cone of fire (when aiming), adding bullet penetration and giving you holographic sights.

What it does painfully lack is a map. As far as I know guys like this don't go in without studying a floor plan.

I was referring to the movement animations you see on your buddies or the enemy. Also, I saw those terrible animations first hand ingame, so what are you talking about, in a video?!? And they don't look very life-like to me, not at all.

Oh excuse me, my mistake. If you just seen this one bug, I must have be dreaming about the others, obviously.

Did I say that? Did I mention GR/R6 regarding this matter? Right, I did not.

Yeah, totally. Like when they perform their "duck-and-get-up-dance" and yell out loud the same crap over and over and over again, even if it doesn't fit the situation. For example, one of my AI operators got killed, AI tangos yells "we have a man down". And no, they didn't had a single casualty...
Or when they run from point A to point B, back and forth... while those points are being 2m apart...

Cheap excuse, really. What does it take to vary some skins!? Some Photoshop skills and a few minutes of time. I wasn't demanding 100% unique tangos, so don't act like I did. All I asked for was a bit variety.

Honestly, it seems you are just totally in love with this game and defend it like a true fanboy. If you really like this game, good for you. But don't act like I would completely misjudge this title just because it doesn't match your opinion.

What's the difference seeing an animation in recorded gameplay versus playing yourself? It's the same animation. No they don't look very life-like. It also didn't have a multi-million mocap behind it?

What's your point here then? The animations are no better than in the marketing materials they released and not of the same quality as a AAA release? The heck did you expect?

Which other bugs then? Don't deflect, argue. Thus far I've noticed some GUI issues as well. Mostly display issues, where something doesn't update correctly, and outside of the actual gameplay.

I did not say you mentioned GR/R6, I asked literally "compared to what?". What are you comparing to here? Some fantastical perfect dream game or something that actually exists?

Frankly haven't seen the AI behavior you're describing, but I have seen it do a lot of things right. A flawed AI doesn't mean it's garbage. To date in all these years I've never seen AI that's particularly impressive; all of it screws up regularly. From what I've seen thus far it does more right then wrong.

Different character models takes more than just photoshop.

The cheap excuse here is that fanboi card that always gets played when someone disagrees. There's definitely some polish needed here and there, but the thrashing you gave it is imho completely unfounded.

I've noticed recently with Steam, that I have to log in all the time. Something didn't seem right, so thanks for the HU Dowly, just changed my password with no problems here.

Changed...

If Valve is all anti-cheat and anti-hack, why can't they run a secure service?

Might as well as the police to catch every nutter before they go postal, or every criminal before they commit a crime.

Whenever there's a mouse-trap, they build a bigger mouse.

You've got a point...but it seems like Steam is ALWAYS getting hacked compared to other services.

Changed mine as well.

@ Eddie I notice that as well i get that check for updates/verification thing each time I start up my PC.Only it does not have me input my password every time.

It has been like that for maybe six months.I think that has more to do with making sure you have a legit copy of Steam.

@Red October well you have to remember that some Steam hacks occur from successful fishing of data and others come from a PC that has a key logger on it sending the data logged to a hackers PC just to name a few hack methods. Also Steam itself can get hacked and people get data that way as well. The latter could be possible in this case and Steam does not yet realize it or has yet to make an announcement.

In the Air Force we had an account for an automated data logging system we used to record that we where working on a unit the IT people set the system so that you had to change your password every 2 weeks.I kind of got out of that habit maybe I should pick it up again.

I have Steam always looking for an update or verifying my install, so nothing new there. But I don't like to have it in the background all the time, so I would exit from it. Most of the time when I opened Steam again, it would load up just fine. Then something happened that when I would want to open it, I had to start logging in again, inputting my password and such, which hadn't happened in a long time. That's why I changed my password recently, after reading what happened to Dowly.

I hope he gets it sorted out!

I noticed when I booted up my PC last night that Steam UI didn't open.
it seemed it got stuck in the verify installation limbo and didn't got out of it.

Also when I did got it to work by killing to process and trying again including a reboot and router restart the download of my game went forth as a snail having a bad cold for a while before the speed kicked up again.

I think also that a lot of people wheren't able to play Takedown online at first (game uses Steam and if the steam server is down you're dropped out of the game as we've found out) that there was something going on with the steam servers last night..just have to wait and see if it was serious or just a hiccup.

Changed the PW too just in case and it was due for a change.
