Apart from completely uninstalling SH5 and cleaning the registry has anyone any clues, tips, advice on what could cause a CTD (x4) after 2 mins play.

All the TDW_GenericPatcher options disabled and the OptionsFileEditorViewer set to default, then all the mods disabled using JSGME. Restarting the computer and then believing I was starting SH5 back in its original form it crashes after two minutes.

Trevally thanks for the advice but is it feasible to add mods to a game that won't start in its supposed original format? I'm open to any suggestions (polite ones).

I'm close to forgetting SH5 and going to other sim's. !!!

Hi,

I have virtually downloaded all of Sjizzle's mod list but I cannot for the life of me find "sobers DOF V6 SH5" the link goes to an error message "Invalid file ID" and then redirects to the SH5 download page. I've searched for ages through the various SH5 Mod threads and Google but each time I think I've found something it goes back to the invalid file ID message link.
Sorry to be a pain but I'm determined with my complete lack of computer skills to make SH5 work.

good that you took those steps for searching the file download. The next best thing to do would be contacting sober to fix link. I'll PM him.

Just a thought Chigley, but have you looked on your system for the presence of this: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable 9.0.30729.4974. Go to Control Panel/Add remove programs and see if it's there. If it is uninstall it as this is the most common culprit in SH5 loading crashes. As this is happening with your game as stock also, I think this is the cause mate.

Thanks for the tip Adrian, thankfully (I think) that culprit isn't there. I'm plodding through Sjizzle's Mod List and his instructions.
