Default 1.03 bug???

Been running 1.03 since it came out, noticed a problem recently.
In my last 2 MP dives, I was unable to get a sonar contact on the enemy sub/subs.
Last one was less than 8nm from me; I looked above/below the layer (500 feet), nothing.
Mud bottom, sea state 3.
No seamounts in the way.
Checked both TA and Sphere, BB and NB.
UUV didn't get it either.
Couldn't figure out why my torp was tracking something, but I couldn't hear anything on that bearing.
Received TIW from an area with nothing there.
On replay, with "show truth" on, there were no enemy subs on the map!
But, as the dive progressed, I could see the UUV's, torps, and CM's they had launched (3 sub FFA).

So, what could cause an invisible sub?
Not running any mods, clean install.
Maps were from Seawolves and GNSF; other players could detect me just fine.

System specs:
AMD 3500
2GB Crucial RAM, 3200
Gygabyte K8N-Pro Mobo
Radeon 9800 Pro
Dual 80gb Western Digital HD in RAID Zero
Windows XP
Broadband cable, router, firewalls off, prot open.

Ideas anyone? Jamie?

Had that one before one or twice. and a sub 300 nm away. It seems that the host and client sometimes (very rare) use different maps? I saw that back in 688(I) and SC.
Not 103 specific.

I agree, sounds like using different maps or someone had a different DB. Swims, Did it only happen that one time?

Has happened to me too a couple times. I was in the Atlantic and the opponent in the Pacific. Just a random problem though it seems.

Happened to me once so far in 1.03; the first clue that should have tipped me off was that team chat wasn't working.

It's not new to 1.03; I've had it happen in 1.0-.01 too, but I've its been happening to you multiple times with different diving partners/opponents it might be a sign that something is broken.

I had something like this with my friend in SC Strange thing was when we noticed the in gäme chat is lagging, and it was lagging still more and more, it was like 5-10 minutes lag in the end Another thing was we were still unable to find each other after like 2 hours of playing, so then we tried to ping but none of us heard the other's ping, then we tried to use radars, and in the end, the show truth cheat, and even after then, each of us did saw only his own submarine

It has happened on 2 different MP dives.
3 different enemies players, they all had normal contacts.
2 different maps.

Anyone have a reccomendation for possible fixes or ways to test the source problem?

I think the reason for this is a problem with the synchronization during a game (for MP matches). A good pointer in that direction is the lag of both the game and the chat. Does this mean something is broken ... maybe but then this is apparently a seldom surfacing issue so it might not be entirely a fault of the game.

I guess it would be easier to pinpoint if this is a problem of the game if this could be consistently reproduced.

Definately not "buggy", but noticing some curious things, all of which have been mentioned elsewhere.
Certainly nothing to stop it from being an excellent sim.
I played a mp today, no problems noted.
wierd.

I start playing again ,I had no time to play before. But I'm starting again, and the new patch . . .

We played 4 hours today. After 3,5 hours I asked the Akula guy from other site: "Are you still there ?". After about 20 minutes he replayed: " Yea, I have just been sleeping . . . ." I manage to sink the primary objectives meanwhile . . .

I have router with firewall - so it is pretty stabile . . .

We've been playing multistation game (1 in Akula , 2 in Seawolf) and we have noticed , that , even I have switched torpedo to pre-enable mode, and torpedo was no longer "red" . My teammate from the same platform could still hear it pinging when i turned torpedo on ownship course.

This bug has already been noted by others. Sure hope SCS gets to it soon.
