I still think I'll wait a bit for things to sort themselves out. $60 US is too much money for question and uncertainty right now.

Ok I went and read that sitrep and yes in this case I admit I was wrong about what I said. But there is one thing I am confused about. In that same sitrep at the bottom "Top priority for the artists now are two Close Air Support fixed-wing beasts, one for both primary factions." Now what we got instead was the A-143 Buzzard for the AAF or the Independent faction, which is just a revamped version of the L-159 Alca from Arma 2: Army of the Czech Republic.

There's a couple of "revamped" units in there to be honest. The neutral faction IFV is a Pandur 2 from Arma2 Czech expansion. The Ka-60 Kasatka was in Arma 2 (Opfor transport helo) and the small Blufor helo is basically the Little Bird. The Blufor wheeled IFV is suspiciously similar to a LAV-25, though not quite. And the AA vehicle on both sides has the same turret at least. Then there's the Titan missile launcher being common among both factions, along with the different explosives.

All in all both sides are well rounded though. The one thing lacking is indeed fixed-wing aircraft. I imagine those will come in with the next patch, not quite making the cut for release.

Give it a few months and you got plenty of hardware to choose from (mods).

Default WARNING: Pic heavy post of silly things with tanks!

Incoming Ifrit, or Ifruit as the guy from the showcase calls it.

How is that happening?!

Got to love PhysX and tanks.

It blew up in the air? Well ok then..

So yeah take that.

DO A BARREL ROLL!

Flying SPG go!

Incoming FFS (Frickin' Flying Slammer).

Barrel-stand like a boss.

Tank balancing act.

Boing

SPG flip.

Incoming!

Um, what?

And now something slightly different.

Buzzing the quad.

Side Note: The none default paint on the tanks is from the TacOps pack and the F/A-18 Super Hornets are from a mod both are available from Armaholic and I highly recommend both!

Aaaah, Arma, I'm glad that they haven't taken out the flying tanks.

As I see above, the vehicles still suck, as always in the series, and the game is released unfinished and incomplete, which is an offense of the customers, and probably the reason why the Saturn electronics chain stores over here sold it for reduced prices already of 30 Euros last week when I was in town, on Saturday.

And still nobody bought, I overheard two salesmen talking.

My money is reserved for thwe 3.0 upgrade of SBP next month. On infantry simulations, my interest has somewhat died anyway, so i think I will live without ArmA 3. Because there is another thing I am certain of: the AI still sucks as well.

I'll probably get it as soon as there is a sale on. I like the idea of having it accessible to Steam Workshop - that's a big plus to me and I love it in Skyrim. Looking at it just now it seems to only be mission. Are there any actual mods on it?

And how is the editor? Is it much the same as it has been since Flashpoint, or have they given us a working 3D editor yet? I mucked around with the 3D one in ArmA2 and it had so much potential.

There have been mods for Arma 3 since the alpha stage was going, it will how ever take time before we'll have mods like ACE available.

As for the editor its still 2D, there is a 3D editor for A3 but it isn't useable atm, yet there was a ton of feedback messages about including a working 3D editor, so its a wait and see for that one. I would recommend using the MCC Sandbox mod as it has a working 3D editor but it doesn't save units like the official editor does but its every useful for unit placement, I've used it to figure out what height to place units on/in certain buildings.

I'm aware that there are plenty of mods already available. I've had a good look over at Armaholic, but are there any modders using Steam for delivery? It just looks like scenarios that are available via Steam Workshop.

I'm a big fan of Workshop. I would have thought this would have been a major plus for the game.

I have not seen any mods on the Steam Workshop yet, there might be some hidden in the 71 pages but then again I really haven't looked that closely either. We might start to see some mods in the workshop sooner or later, for the time being however it looks like Armaholic and BI's forum are the place to go for most mods.
