The movie was mildly amusing during the combat sequences...but not for long...other than that

Looks like a nice city though.

Croatian Istra was Italy between WW1 and WW2, so Rovinj was in Italy in 1944, not occupied Yugoslavia.
But in the movie, is it supposed to be Italy as part of the boot or the other Adriatic provinces like Istra

Most beautiful of the Adriatic towns by far

I would of watched "Emperor" if it wasn't for the fact that I despise "Dugout Doug". As for "Red Tails", yeah its right up there with U-571. Like Bubbles said, the HBO movie "The Tuskegee Airmen" is by far much a much better account of the 332nd Fighter Group.

Doug is very much like marmite, probably the most polarising general in US history.
It's not for nothing that some referred to him as the Gaijin Shogun.
