Pay close attention to Karl Roves' tweet about it and the democratic response.

Also note one of the thorns that the RNC are crying about is actually an NBC show currently in production. NBC News is a separate component from NBC entertainment.

Threatening to boycott debates if these shows are aired seems grossly counter productive to me. Someone should maybe take Reinces' hammer away from him. That way he can't drive any more nails in the coffin.

Why should the Republican party be allowed to dictate content to be aired on any network, period!?
They would be well within their rights to complain if this was during an active presidential election cycle. Equal time and all that rot.

...

The 'equal time' conditions have not applied since -- surprise! -- the GOP lobbied and complained feverishly to have the "Fairness Doctrine" overturned. This is just one more case of the GOP shooting itself in the foot with some 'brilliant' idea fostered by the extreme right of the party. It is rather disingenous of the GOP to be crying foul when they are the ones who fouled their nests...

The GOP is currently fighting back efforts to have the "Fairness Doctrine" reinstated. They fear it would be detrimental to the survival of their own 'party organs' such as Limbaugh, Hannity, Fox News, et. al. ...

Here is description of the "Fairness Doctrine" from Wikipedia:

Oh, let them keep banging their thumbs while driving the coffin nails. They've only been doing it since just prior to the civil war. A war that I think they were the primary architects of. And now they seem hell bent on designing their own demise.

Let the hot air begin.

Steady on, I don't think it's fair to lay the causes of the Civil war at the GOPs feet.

Well you're not answering it and they're not dictating anything. The media is free to air these shows regardless of what the GoP wants. That is not dictating.

No the Republicans are just exercising their rights as free people not to associate with organizations dedicated to their destruction, or more accurately threaten not to do so. Do you also think that a klan or nazi run media organization has a right to interview Jewish or Black candidates and host live TV debates? Don't you think those candidates would be well justified in turning a cold shoulder to them? Think about it.

As long as those two "media" organizations (I won't call them news organizations because they have long since stopped being that) want to play favorites then I see no benefit for the GoP to continue to have any dealings with them. Sort of like how the Democrats treat Fox News. I expect the trend will continue as the media continues to become more partisan too so get used to it.

We have another three years before the next cycle begins the insanity anew and Hilldog still needs to get the nod from her party.
The movie is scheduled to come out next year, just before the midterms where you know that she is going to both stump for the Dems in a big way as well as begin her run for president, and the mini series will go on just before the 2016 election itself with a party approved cast and story. They are obviously designed to enhance her image and her political career. A media invented Rock Star.

You may think you have three years before as you put it "the next cycle" of insanity but you're wrong. The opening salvos of the 2016 election have already been fired. The battle has been joined and it's looks like it will be a bloody one.

I just wonder when the battle for 2020 will begin, probably November 8th 2016 the way it's been trending in recent years.

If you think about it it makes perfect sense to allow it.
A black/Jewish candidate would easily make mincemeat out of the klan/Nazis in a live debate as those right wing extremists are just so dumb.

Fill a pot with excrement and stir it a little and all the flies come running.

I will reiterate, I don't give a tinker's damn what either party does or doesn't do as long as they're not passing idiotic laws to fit a paranoid ideology.

Every politician and those who back them need to do one thing...
Bend over, grasp both shoulders and pull firmly until they hear a loud pop.
This will indicate that they have successfully extracted their cranium from their rectum.

If anyone here is one of those folks who is neck deep in rectum, allow me to apologize...

I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm NOT sorry.

The GOP can do whatever it likes and it will make very little difference. The entire voting base for the hand out Liberals has been locked up over the past six years. It has also grown exponentially. I do not see a GOP candidate winning the WH ever again.

Also, healthcare was pushed like a baby during labor when Hillary was first lady. She will see it through and her speeches will say just that. She will be backed by BO and the news outfits will not say a damn thing about Benghazi.

The GOP needs to find another line of work.

Reince and the boys did it...

They snubbed two major networks for televised debates...
http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2...id=msnhp&pos=2

I guess they have no interest in ever gaining the big chair again. EVER!

From the article...
"The post-2012 election autopsy ordered by Priebus found that “there have been too many debates, and they took place too early.”

What a maroon! I guess his autopsy didn't mention all the squeaking sounds their candidate made when he walked. Not to mention all the flip flopping and the BS that poured across his lips every time he opened his mouth and spoke.

I really don't know why the GOP is so worried; the film is going to be on NBC, a network whose ratings have been dismally low: often 4th behind CBS, ABC and Fox, and, in some very major markets 5th behind a Spanish languege network. Let NBC air the film: no one will see it anyway...

They're just after publicity now. Even if it's negative publicity.

What would really be funny is to see every incumbent Republican defeated for re-election to congress next year.
Maybe that's their goal, who knows? Making it all Democrat to stock up ammo for 2016. There's not much a democrat controlled congress can do in two years.

We shall see, eh?

Maybe the GOP is going to play the passive/aggressive "victim" card like Leno did, you know, "I'm the victim here"...

It didn't work for Leno and it won't work for the GOP...

Or maybe it just recognizes that the GoP can't get a fair shake from these two organizations. They may cry crocodile tears now but it's not like the Democrats haven't boycotted debates on Fox news in the past.
