Hey Subfreaks.
I'm a new member of the community. Nice to be here.

My submarine career started in 1985 with Silent Service and 1987 with The Hunt For Red October, both on the Commodore 64.

Then I had a long absence away from the sea, and got back again with Silent Hunter 3 and played that alot during 2005.
I bought Silent Hunter 4 when it came out, but for some reason I didn't really sink (no pun intended) into it as much as the 3rd Hunter.

Now it seems that, after watching some Silent Hunter 5-vids on YouTube, my sub-veins are heating up again, and I'm considering buying it.

If you guys could suggest some mods, I would be thankful. Nothing fancy pancy, just some "basic" ones that doesn't require too much tweaking. Graphic upgrades and if there are some stable unofficial patch as well, that would be cool.

Looking forward to hear from you guys.

Your best bet is to post your question here.

Greetings to the Subsim community,

My name is Roy and I have been playing submarine simulations since last year when I purchased Silent Hunter 5 (I have just purchased Silent Hunter 4, which I can't wait to play). I have had fun with the game - a lot of the advice on these forums have really helped hone my skills, even though I have been playing with the stock game. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone here in the Subsim community.

Roy
