Please can anyone help me with refitting torpedoes and ammo?

IIRC, you can not refit when you are playimg single missions but only when you're playing a full campaign/career.

no you can refit anytime in single, patrol, or campaign, you just don't have a home port in single so repairs are out but refitting is ok

I tried to fire all the torpedo's when I started at Freemantle in the mission "the hunt for the wounded bear" so i had no torpedo's at all left i pushed T letter that took me into the torpedoes room and press the anchor for refit but there is no one torpedo coming in.This is so tough.....very fustration.I do not know what game version i have here in SH4.How can i see that? Thanks

I've just replicated what you describe, in that same war patrol. Fired 6 torpedoes, hit the "anchor" icon, chose "Refit", and the torpedo load-out was replenished.
Your game installation must have a bug.
I suggest you uninstall, and run a clean-up software afterwards, to clean-up left-over files and registry entries, and reinstall the game.

here is what you are missing, the refit anchor WILL NOT RELOAD YOUR TORPEDOS INTO THE TUBES FOR YOU you have to manually do this yourself with the mouse and then WAIT or use time compression since it takes a good 20-30 minutes to reload all tubes. then and only then can you refit again to fill the reserve torpedo slots you just emptied by sending the torpedos to be loaded into the tubes.

even if you have auto loading of torpedos selected when you run out they don't start auto reloading until the empty tubes AND the reserve slots are all full.

trust me it works you just need to do these things in the correct order to get a full reload

The way I read his problem is that he isn't getting any torpedoes at all, no tubes loaded nor reserves. Also no deck gun ammo.

danu68 the way to tell what version of SH4 you have is to load the game and look at the lower right corner of the load screen. It will show V1.something

If it says V1.3 or less you need to go to the UBI web site and download the V1.4 patch, without this the game is unplayable. Install the patch and see if your problem is fixed.

If the load screen says V1.4 or V1.5 than you have a bad install and will need to reinstall the game. V1.5 is the last patch it also includes a U Boat campaign and all the latest mods are for this version, you can get a $10.00 down load of this version from UBI or better yet get the U Boat "Gold Edition" on disk. You should be able to find it on the Amazon.com link at the top of this page. Subsim gets a small cut of anything you buy from this link.

If you need to reinstall, here are some tips.
Put the game in some other folder than C/Program files folder.
Find the SH4.exe file in the main game folder and use it to launch the game, do not use the SH4.gu default launch icon.
Run as administrator if using Vista or above.

This is a great game and is well worth any extra cost and all the patching or adding mods.

Go to the game folder and right-click on sh4.exe. a dialogue box opens, select Properties. When the Properties dialogue box opens, select the Details tab. The fifth line down is Product version. The format is 1, x, x, x. The second x is the information you're looking for. Mine says 1, 5, 0, 0, because I have v1.5. If yours says 1, 4, 0, 0, then you have v1.4 - or whatever it turns out to be.
