Milkcow Mod and SH3 Commander (23-28 days instead of 1 day?)

Ok I am very confused on how this milk cow thing works. Ok I did what you said to do. Set sh3 commander to 28 days dock at supply ship , exit and set to 1 day. Then come back on and click before or after mission. ( I clicked before)

I was only one day ahead but I was on a new patrol. I had null grid, and I lost my info for patrol 1. MY question, is there a way to get your old patrol stuff back and continue your mission. I even tried to set my old patrol grid in sh3 commander, but that did not work. I don't understand how I am supposed to finish a patrol and receive renown.

Am I supposed to finish the patrol first then go to milk cow and then head home, I just don't know, very confusing
