Too bad I live in Norway. In June and July the sun never goes below the horizon, making the moon impossible to spot.

Here's a little secret. No matter how big it looks, it you hold your hand at arm's length you can still cover the moon with your baby finger.

I saw it this morning. Very impressive.
I saluted Neil Armstrong too.

I remember seeing a supermoon about 9 years ago whilst driving home at dusk. I was travelling eastbound up a hill, and as I neared the crest of the hill the moon was suddenly visible on the horizon directly in front of me. A phenonemal sight as it was a bright full moon and had just risen. It appeared to fill the whole windscreen and felt as if I could drive into it. Never seen anything like it before, and I had never heard of a supermoon or the optical illusion created when low on the horizon.

I got a glimpse of it Friday night, rising through the tree in back of my house. I noticed that it looked much brighter and larger than usual and the next morning, I read about the "Supermoon" on my homepage, News, section. Supposed to get some thunderstorms sometime today/tonight, but right now the sky looks completely clear. I'll give it another gander tonight.

Was hoping to glare at it a bit tonight, but got called in, and now I'm stuck at work on a conference call. This building needs more windows.
