You should watch it with Turtle Beach Headphones maxed out on volume.

I watched The Pacific with those headphones and if you closed your eyes you can tell which direction the characters are getting shot at from and which way the shells are falling/going to fall.

The airfield scene on Peleliu was just awesome with those headphones.

P.S. I highly recommend The Enemy Below, Crash Dive, Run Silent Run Deep and Operation Pacific. Also, you'll come to find out that U-571 is the butt (stern if you prefer) of our jokes here. The movie is a running gag for us.
