Question: Do I need to worry about these three “data doesn't exist!”?

Answer: This means the mod isn't installed correctly. Any mod need Silent Hunter 5/MODS/Modname/data. Make sure they are in the right structure and then reenable them.

Question: What is “genericPatcher”, and can I use it with a digital download? => I had read that steam users could not use this. From your reply my sh5.exe from amazon's digital download is the same as the sh5.exe from the boxed version.

Answer: Generic Patcher can be used with box version and digital download versions except steam version. You can patch the sh5.exe and some other files from the game to fix bugs and add functionality. It's a standalone program. You don't need JSGME to use it.

Question: With these mods, can they just be enabled with JSGME and go, or, do they need tinkered with?

Echolot and I agree that most likely the file structure is wrong.
