Thanks to this I am now seeing Neal as Rock Hudson in Giant, with Steve playing the James Dean role.

If either of us ever looked that good, we sure don't now.

The saga continues....

Sooooo my agent calls me about quarter to four this afternoon to tell me she just checked with the office to make sure the keys to the moving truck were there for her to pick up to give to me when we met up later on.

The secretary tells her no, the keys aren't there, because another agent's client is using the truck this weekend and has already picked them up.

My agent says, WTF I reserved the truck for my client this weekend.

Secretary says, no, I have your client down for next weekend.

My agent says, I reserved the truck for the holiday weekend. Memorial Day weekend. THAT'S THIS WEEKEND.

The secretary says, no, you said to reserve it for the last weekend in May. That's next weekend.

UM NO, YOU DAFT BINT, I think to myself as I'm hearing this, next weekend is the first weekend in June. THIS weekend is the last weekend in May, and it's also the holiday weekend, so whichever one of those things my agent said, the reservation was for THIS weekend, not next weekend.

Which was the same conclusion my agent came to and she is NOT happy with their secretary at the moment. But the damage was already done as the other client had the keys and the truck and wasn't supposed to have it back until Sunday afternoon. Well, that does me no good as I can't really count on that happening, and if for some reason the other client doesn't return the truck on time I'm SOL if I've left that as my only option. I can't move on Monday because everybody else who's helping - plus the person who would be driving the truck - has to work on Memorial Day, and every day thereafter until next weekend, and I have to be out of there before then.

So I ended up having to reserve a U-Haul and couldn't even get that until tomorrow afternoon. We'll just have to start without it and move what we can in my BiL's small pickup and then go get the truck later to move what's too big and/or left over.

Anyway I did scrounge up some more boxes, mostly by unpacking stuff that was already here and just tossing it into empty closet space. Went to the apartment after work and made several more trips to the dumpster and packed up everything that was left (I think) except the TV, which I just didn't get to at all before I left around 10:30. Also wiped down cupboards and cabinets as I emptied them out and cleaned up where I could.

I will not have helpers or the pickup until 10 AM tomorrow so I will try to get over there earlier to pack the TV and also take out the one box of trash that I accumulated this evening, and get the TV and some other stuff loaded in my car for the first trip to the condo.

Not sure how we will do moving the bigger furniture, I tried to get the place where I am donating it to do a pickup at the apartment but the soonest I could schedule one was the first week of June so we'll just have to move it somehow. Fortunately my boss has offered one of her teenage sons to help if we need it... so if my BiL gets over there and looks it over and decides we need another pair of hands, she said I can give her a call and she'll send him in our direction.

I will be so happy when all this is over, all I want to do is get my stuff out of there and get back in and do what cleaning/repairing I can and never go back there again.

Sometime this weekend I will have to call the building manager to let them know - again - that I will be out of the apartment on or before the 31st and she needs to call the electric co. about continuing the service there from that date and also what does she want to do about getting the keys back? If I don't hear from her by the time I'm done over there, I swear I am just going to go to her home/office and leave them in the mailbox or whatever dropbox they have.

No, even worse, I'm one of those uppity wimminz who has a job outside the home which I have the audacity to pay for with my own money.

I also own a toolbox, and a power drill. Neither of them is pink. I keep my hair cut very short, and haven't worn a pair of high heels in more years than I can count. Please feel free to draw your own conclusions, as I'm sure they'll be highly entertaining should you feel compelled to share them.
